The Grassroots Journal was founded by Borderless World Volunteers. It immerses its readers in the complexities of development studies, as seen through the lens of undergraduates in the field. As an open access journal, it provides an interdisciplinary forum for research and reflection on global development issues, as well as on recent innovations in development policy and practice. Grassroots publishes student academic articles, informative pieces on innovations in the field of development, and analytical pieces on development issues, controversies, and policy debates.
The Grassroots Journal - Winter 2014
We are overjoyed to announce that this is the first issue of The Grassroots Journal that will be printed and distributed! The Grassroots Journal has been such a rewarding project to watch grow over the past two years, and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
The Grassroots Journal would be nowhere without the support of our parent organization, Borderless World Volunteers. I am so grateful for the support of the Executive team and International Volunteers, and I am honored to be a part of an organization that has such an authentic impact on both the local Montreal and global community.
Finally, I would like to thank our writers and the brilliance of the McGill community that they represent, as this is the true inspiration and motivation for the journal.
