The Grassroots Journal was founded by Borderless World Volunteers. It immerses its readers in the complexities of development studies, as seen through the lens of undergraduates in the field. As an open access journal, it provides an interdisciplinary forum for research and reflection on global development issues, as well as on recent innovations in development policy and practice. Grassroots publishes student academic articles, informative pieces on innovations in the field of development, and analytical pieces on development issues, controversies, and policy debates.
The Grassroots Journal - Fall 2013 Vol. 1, Ed.3
Development can be a frustrating field to study, as students are constantly faced with issues that are larger than themselves and their nations. The writers who contributed to this issue of The Grassroots Journal tackle some particularly immense global issues that don’t always command the spotlight, ranging from gender equality in the mining industry to an Ethiopian case study of urban migration. As intimidating as these issues might be, in doing so, their work contributes to the global dialogue between bright, passionate minds
